Japan's largest brokerage, Nomura, reported 709.4 billion yen ($7.3 billion) losses for the fiscal year ended in March 2009, setting the country’s historic fiscal-year loss, while year-ago period revealed 67.8 billion yen loss volume. This fiscal year loss surpassed all the expectations. According to data provided by FactSet Research, the market expected 611.6 billion yen net loss for the fiscal year ended 2009, on average.
