Latest speculations in the media industry say that Taiwanese phone maker HTC will unveil two smartphones bearing Facebook's brand and colors at an event in Barcelona next month.

Facebook has launched new "Friendship Pages" which contains public Wall posts and commetns between two friends, photos in which they're both tagged, events they've both RSVP'd for, etc. The pages will be seen only by those who are friends with one of the people, and have permission to view both people's profiles.

On its official blog Monday the search giant Google announced the revamped version of its Gmail Inbox. Now users have the option to automatically filter their messages separating the most important from those which we rarely read. The new option dubbed as Priority Inbox was introduced as a beta. It offers filtering algorithms that "help you see the emails that matter faster" – without the need to set up complex filters of your own.

According to a report being released on Wednesday by security company McAfee Inc. 62 trillion junk e-mails in 2008 wasted enough electricity to power 2.4 million U.S. homes for a year, reports the Associated Press. Thus the estimate of "Carbon Footprint of E-mail Spam Report" shows that that the electricity needed to process a single spam message results in 0.3 grams of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere - the equivalent of driving 3 feet in a car.

Couple of days before, the “glitch" on Amazon.com led to thousand of books sales missing numbers. According to The Associated Press report, on Tuesday Amazon fixed the situation, returning the numbers for Annie Proulx's "Brokeback Mountain," James Baldwin's "Giovanni's Room" and other notable titles. 

As the Register says, T-Mobile is offering the UK customers genuinely-pushed email to a custom client, for a small consideration of £3.50 a month. This service connects to up to five existing email accounts and alerts the client to connect and download new messages using a silent SMS notification, that works like the BlackBerry service does. Clients are to download the application, though they have a chance to get a free month's usage, before the monthly fee kicks in, signing up.
