Forex trends: dollar losses ground hitting fresh lows

In early New York deals today, the US dollar traded lower against major rivals. The greenback dropped to new multi-day lows against the euro, franc and fresh multi-month low versus the loonie.

After edging up slightly in early European session, the greenback ticked down against the euro and the Swiss franc in New York morning deals today. At 11:00 am ET, the greenback dropped to new multi-day lows of 1.3681 against the euro and 1.0688 versus the franc, compared to yesterday's closing values of 1.3602 and 1.0754, respectively.

After hitting an 8-day high of 1.4876 by about 5:45 am ET, the greenback reversed its direction versus the British pound in today's New York mid-day deals. The dollar slipped to 1.4995 versus the sterling as of 11:05 am ET, compared to 1.4999 hit late New York Tuesday.

Against its Canadian counterpart, the greenback plunged further in mid-day session and fell to a fresh multi-month low of 1.0219 at about 11:00 am ET. USD/CAD pair closed yesterday's North American session at 1.0261.

The US currency also edged down against other major currencies during New York morning deals. At around 11:00 am ET, the greenback dropped to new multi-week lows of 0.9195 against the Australian dollar and 0.7101 versus the NZ dollar from Tuesday's close of 0.9142 and 0.7031, respectively.
