Windows 7 satisfaction encourages IT spending

According to market research from ChangeWave due to the new Microsoft’s OS, companies started buying more PCs, while home run with Windows 7 has also surged.

Amid over 1,700 U.S. corporate IT buyers polled by ChangeWave, 93% responded their company is satisfied with the new OS. This is in line with previous studies the research firm has conducted, when it was found that companies were deferring their PC purchases in anticipation of Windows. "The latest results show the opposite now occurring," reported director of research Paul Carton and researcher Adam Golub.

About 20% of respondents said that Windows 7 has caused their firm to upgrade their PCs faster than they normally would. And while just 3% said the new OS caused "significant acceleration" of upgrade plans, 16% said Windows 7 led to either "modest acceleration" or "slight acceleration."
