As The Wall Street Journal reported, Bank of America has recently intended to talk about the appointment of Robert Kelly, Bank of New York Mellon Corp Chief Executive, to the position of the CEO at Bank of America Corp, but he was not interested in the job. As people familiar to the matter affirm, Kelly has been approached more than once about being a potential successor to Kenneth Lewis, who will retire at the end of this year. The Journal reported that the board's search committee was pushed by some Bank of America stakeholders and regulators to look outside the company for the next CEO. But the search turned out to be futile because all the potential candidates have met with failure of the board's hopes or showed no interested. It was also supposed that if the search committee hires an insider, Bank of America Chief Risk Officer Gregory Curl and small-business banking head Brian Moynihan are the two top candidates for the position. The decision of the search committee is expected by the end of this week or even later, the report said.
