According to the RealtyTrac data, including more than 90% of US households, 336,173 filings nationally was counted, ranging from default notices to bank repossessions.
These figures reflect 4.57% growth, against the previous month and up 33% increase, compared to the same period last year. For the second quarter, filings were up 20% from the comparable period last year.
As Daren Blomquist, a RealtyTrac spokesman reported, that nationwide the trajectory is remaining the same, continuing to increase. He also suspects, many of the numbers would be much higher if these efforts were not in place, so the fact that the numbers continue to increase, despite of all of the efforts is indicative of just how big this problem is.
Some states, like California and Nevada, are still reporting the biggest filings’ numbers, while the Washington region was less impacted. In the District and flat in Virginia filings appeared to be down, compared to June 2008, but up in Maryland.
