COOP in Sweden, Norway and Denmark has renewed its general agreement with Gunnebo and extended it for a further 3 years. That agreement refers to SafePay, integrated cash handling system. It includes delivery, installation and service of the system. The general agreement was signed with COOP’s Nordic procurement organisation COOP Trading. It encompasses delivery and installation of all parts of the SafePay system. Now there are 950 SafePay systems installed in COOP’s stores throughout the Nordic region.
Anders Gruvfors, manager of the Coop Nära chain commented on that event: “A safe store and a safe environment for our personnel and customers are high priorities for COOP. The new SafePay with ink protection provides a closed system all the way from the store to the counting centre. The cash goes directly from the SafePay system to the CIT company without any exposure whatsoever. The general agreement means we have chosen a business partner and that together with Gunnebo we are working towards a feasible vision of a cash-secure store.”
In its turn, Gunnebo President and CEO Per Borgvall said: “COOP is by far one of Gunnebo’s most important SafePay customers, and we have enjoyed a collaboration on closed cash handling for several years. This agreement is very important for Gunnebo as it shows that COOP is satisfied with our collaboration to date and would now like to move forward together.”
