On the official site of eBay UK the company posted an announcement about the future updates to its services which will take effect starting the week from June 15th, 2009. The updates will be applied to listings, selling, policies and other aspects related to conducting a business on eBay.
Listings update will include:
• New item page rolling out to all of eBay
• New eBay product pages shown to more buyers. Users will be able to list using product details from a catalogue
• New way to list in Buy It Now that will allow eBay sellers to offer all variations of one product - e.g. color and size - in a single low-cost listing
• Introducing free pictures in the Clothes, Shoes & Accessories categories, and a new webfile upload option
In a move to make selling on eBay more efficient the company introduces:
• New Smart FAQ to answer buyers’ top 20 questions before they contact a seller
• Easy Returns, a new way for a seller to manage returns in the Resolution Centre and automatically get Full Value Fee (FVF) credit
• Customize item specifics when the available choices don’t apply to the seller’s item.
Among other changes to be introduced there are the following:
• Free P&P in selected Clothes Shoes & Accessories and Tech categories (accessories only), plus Final Value Fee promotion for Shop owners
• New, more efficient process for handling disputes.
• Extended deadlines for mandatory specification of dispatch time
• Category changes - find out if the seller’s listings are affected
• Policies relating to multiple-item listings changing
