The Monster Employment Index Europe, that provides monthly insight into online recruitment trends across the European Union, revealed recession in March.
Thus The Monster Employment Index Europe dropped 3 points in March as a result of fluctuations across the major European markets. Yearly the Index remained down, dropping 58 points, or 34% since March 2008.
Italy, Belgium and France reported the largest growth in online recruitment activity among the major markets. At the same time, these rises were outweighed by restrictions in the Netherlands, UK, Germany and Sweden. Annually online recruitment activity decreased most in the Netherlands, UK and Sweden.
Online worker demand increased in such sectors as agriculture, education, and public. Meanwhile, education, training and library; healthcare; and hospitality and tourism all showed positive annual growth. As for the industry sectors, the steepest declines were seen in marketing, PR and media, environment, engineering and automotive
