Wells Fargo launches Twitter feed to communicate with customers

Wells Fargo is the latest bank that intends to launch a Twitter feed for its customers under the name The Ask_WellsFargo feed. The site for communication with customers was launched on Thursday and manned by "Joel", that said the bank was "testing this Twitter channel to learn how to best service our customers".

This service will enable customers to ask questions and seek advice. To begin with the feed will only cover "basic banking needs" and Wells reminds customers not to disclose account information on Twitter.

A Twitter channel was set up by Wells Fargo about two years ago but posted only four tweets before moving to the new feed, while Wachovia has been using such a site since last August, and has already got over 2400 followers. Bank of America implemented a feed to provide advice and help to customers in January and for now has over 1500 followers.
