Bank of America has announced that they have just 2 million users of mobile banking service. The bank considers this figure too small since the number of online banking users totals 29 million, and mobile banking users are just 10% of all Internet banking users. It is necessary to note that in May 2008 the company has reported only 1 million users.
Also it became revealed that more than 40% of active mobile bankers use iPhone or iPod touch applications. Such statement is based on the survey conducted during the last 3 months. BofA also says to believe that the mobile channel is driving some new business to the bank with 8% to 10% of mobile bankers, almost 200,000, having signed up for the service within 90 days of opening a BofA account.
