A survey conducted by VeriSign shows that 85% of consumers consider trusting the site is most important when sharing confidential information while interacting on a Web site.
Some statistics received from the survey are: 9% consider competitive pricing to be the most important, while another 5% said that convenience and ease to use was the most important. 93% of respondents stated they would not transact on sites that were unsecured.
The last figure proves once again, that trust is still the most important in customer relationships. It can be provided by such security mechanisms as two-factor authentication, encryption, and validation, reports TMCnet
Some more interesting findings revealed during the research are: 86% of respondents use a simple user name and password to enter accounts, while 62% look for the lock icon in the address bar, 55% search for a logo or seal from the firm assuring Internet security, and 52% look for “https://” in the address bar.
