Alibaba teams with VeriSign
Alibaba.com, a leading Chinese e-commerce provider, has created a business alliance with American Internet security firm VeriSign Inc in order to provide a new service to its suppliers who sign up for Alibaba.com's TrustPass membership, assisting them verify their status as a legitimate business entity.

In accordance with the cooperation agreement signed by both parties, VeriSign will independently assess the business in a multi-step verification process through the best guaranty of quality and the No. 1 sign of trust on the Internet VeriSign Verified(TM) Seal.

Ailbaba will allow to display the VeriSign Verified Seal, microsites, and Alibaba.com product detail pages on their TrustPass profiles only the merchants and suppliers, who pass the VeriSign authentication and verification process, reports China Knowledge.

Sources reported that more than 36 million merchants and suppliers all around the world will be using the verification service. 

Arthur Chang, Vice President of Alibaba Global Sales, highlighted that currently it is crucial for consumers to look for a strong reassurance in doing business with trustworthy online suppliers.
