Use of mobile phones depends on skin color? Survey results

According
    to the recent survey published by eMarketer, black and Hispanic adults are more
    active in using mobile internet compared to white adults. As per result of the
    study conducted by the Pew Internet & American Life Foundation in May 2010
    only 80% of non-Hispanic white adults own a mobile phone, compared to 87% of
    black and Hispanic adults. However even having sophisticated smartphones the adults
    cannot use all their features, including mobile Internet. Though not all of
    them.

Craigslist decision to block Adult Section stirs consumers: people don’t agree

According to the polls conducted by Mashable and Washington Post many users are against censorship introduced by Craigslist on its Adult Section. A survey at Mashable shows 71 percent of the respondents voted no to the question "Should Craigslist's Adult Services be censored?" Meanwhile, the Washington Post asked its readers, "Do you agree with Craigslist's decision?" to block access to its Adult Services section. Fifty-two percent of them said no.

83% of US customers shop online weekly

According to a survey, released recently by Compete, a Kantar Media company, 83% of consumers shop online at least every week. The quarterly Online Shopper Intelligence Study polled 3,119 online purchasers between May and July 2010.
Study also found these consistent trends:
•	Consumers are seeking out retailers on Facebook and Twitter in growing numbers, 31 percent report checking out Facebook fan pages or Twitter feeds of retailers, almost twice as many people as in Q3 2009.

What affects drop in prices for broadband services in US and Europe?

   to the latest research from Analysys Mason, broadband pricing in Europe and the
   US dropped by €5 a month, on average, as broadband speeds went up by an average
   of 20% during the last year.
This drop

Europe buys more PCs with Acer leading the market

New figures from Gartner reveal that PC shipments in Western Europe increased by 19.6% in the second quarter as compared with the same period a year ago. Gartner reports that 15.6 million units were sold for the quarter, with the consumer market outshining the professional segment.
The consumer market was led by sales of notebooks and all-in-one PCs. Mini-notebooks or netbook sales grew less than 10 percent for the first time but still comprised 19 percent of mobile PC sales in Europe.

56.8 million Americans have played video games on social networks

According to a new study by The NPD Group 20% of the US population which is 56.8 million Americans have played a game on a social network at one point or another.
Thirty-five percent of those players are new to gaming, having never previously experimented with any form of video game.
Today games like “FarmVille,” “Mafia Wars” and “Happy Aquarium” are as influential for millions of people in this generation as “Pac Man” was in the 1980s.

A new survey from Sterling Commerce and Demandware reveals that 15% of US consumers have used their cellphones to make purchases. The survey polled 36000 US consumers. It found that 96% own a mobile device and just under half a smartphone.
Over 60% of the polled admit that being able to use their mobile phone while shopping to verify product availability at a particular store location is important to very important.

Capital One reports decline in US credit card defaults

Capital One Financial Corp reported that US credit-card defaults continued their decline for the fourth straight month which means that fewer Americans were falling seriously behind in their credit card payments.
In its regulatory filing Capital One reported that the annualized net charge-off rate for US credit cards dropped to 8.13% in July from 9.28% in June.
The company said that accounts at least 30 delinquent declined to 4.66 percent from 4.79 percent.

Google published the results of its recent survey where it polled consumers about becoming friends/fans of brands on Facebook. The survey found that about half of Facebook users actually do "friend" brands, with 55% friending zero brands.
According to Google the top reason for consumers to friend brands is the possibility of discounts (25%). Brands might like the second reason even better though - to show others they support the brand (18%).
