Making money with TGP websites

Making money with TGP websites

You don’t need to be in the adult business for a long time to come across these three letters: TGP. They are the topic of numerous threads on adult webmaster forums, they are a good way to draw large volumes of traffic to adult websites, and they can become your primary source of income for many years. What does TGP mean, and how can it benefit adult webmasters and website owners?

What is a TGP and galleries?

TGP stands for Thumbnail Gallery Post. It means a website that lists text links to individual gallery pages submitted by adult webmasters and TGP owners. Each of these galleries offers free pictures for the porn surfers to look at.

Text links describe briefly what surfers will see if they click the link, for example “a couple doing it on the couch,” “a shemale poser” or “a BBW lady in action”. The TGP owner's task is to maintain a list of galleries that will attract surfers.

The gallery is a series of small preview images (from 12 to 20) dedicated to a particular niche: anal, gay, BDSM, voyeur, ebony – whatever the TGP owner chooses to display. Actually, most TGP galleries are hardcore.

The surfer examines these small images and decides whether they want to view the full-size photo. Each thumbnail is linked so that when the surfer clicks on it, the large image appears in their browser window.

The main aim of TGP websites is to draw large volumes of traffic and generate a steady source of income for the website owners and webmasters. There are numerous banners, buttons and text links to sponsors or for-sale programs.

How a TGP works

The TGP system involves three important people:
•    The TGP owner responsible for adding new galleries to the site.
•    The webmaster that creates the galleries for the TGP and then submits them in the hope that the TGP will list it.
•    The surfer who visits the TGP and the galleries listed there.

As you see, you can either create TGP websites, galleries or both. TGP owners make money on their websites, webmasters – on their galleries. They can sell sponsor memberships, trade links, entice surfers to visit a paysite, etc.

Quantity and quality are the basic principles of work for the TGP owner. They usually review, categorize and post galleries, track visitors, sell sponsor's products, reply to webmasters’ emails and promote their TGP online.

As for webmasters, their task is to create numerous gallery pages and monetize the traffic they get. It works like that: surfers who visit the TGP get interested in the gallery's description and visit it. Part of surfers who visit the gallery get interested in the adverts placed there - and click the links to paysites or traffic brokers.

There are hundreds or even thousands of adult webmasters who never build whole websites. They create only TGP galleries - gallery after gallery – and generate a lot of traffic. Do you want to follow their example?

Creating a TGP gallery

Creating a gallery, you need to kill two birds with one stone - please the TGP owner so that your page gets submitted, and make an interesting gallery that will be beneficial for you. A good TGP listing can send you literally a hundred thousand unique hits every day. The more surfers you get, the more money you can make.

The best way to learn how to create a good gallery is to examine the works of other adult webmasters. For example, visit Thehun.net, Shemp.com, Elephantlist.com or just go to search engines and enter TGP.

There are several basic elements to keep in mind:
•    Which niche to choose.
•    Where to take the content.
•    Which sponsors to use in the adverts.
•    How to position the ads.
•    What to say in the text ads.
•    How to layout the gallery to get more clicks.

Most sponsors (NastyDollars.com, Stats.NaughtyAmerica.com, Juggcash.com, etc.) offer good free content to use. Just download a few sets of pictures, and, if necessary, use a batch program to resize them. Avoid websites that offer outdated or old looking content – your galleries won’t be interesting for surfers.

If you don’t want to get free content from you sponsors (because you have seen dozens of galleries with the same pictures), you can buy a CD or downloadable set of images to create your own TGP galleries and make porn surfers happy.

Typically, such images cost as much as one member signup commission from a paysite - $25-$50. You can buy content in any niche you want. Browse Nevest.net, Zipcontent.com or similar websites to find quality pictures.

The standard minimum of sponsor links and banners is two. Some webmasters choose to display them above the preview images, some place links within the gallery, some attach sponsor buttons all over their gallery page. No matter what you prefer, knowledge of HTML tables is very handy when building galleries.

Getting listed on a TGP

Once you have made a gallery, it's time to submit it on one of the TGP websites available online. A TGP owner will take submissions from either a submission form on the website or from email. They review each submitted gallery and decide whether or not it is worthy for their site. Some TGP owners use auto-submitters, but they are not very popular - you never know what content you will get.

It is easier and more convenient for a webmaster to make submissions through a special online form. Just look for a link which will either say "Submit a gallery" or "Webmasters" - or something very similar.

Once you click the link, you will see a form where you need to enter information about your gallery: URL, number of pictures, description and your name and e-mail. Some TGPs do not require a description because the owner prefers to create it personally.

Always read the rules or guidelines for listing carefully before submitting your gallery. They specify the minimum number of pictures you must have, what content is permitted on your page, and anything else which is important for the TGP owner. Even though most websites have similar rules, it always makes sense to read all guidelines to make sure your gallery will be submitted.

A single TGP gallery with the right layout, images and appropriate sponsor links may make you a lot of money, but it won’t make you a living. You need to submit a lot of galleries to get profit. There is no standard for the number of galleries you should make - a good rule is to build as many as you can.

Keep in mind that TGPs are not right for everyone. While some people do make money from the TGPs (some webmasters are using TGPs as their primary source of money), there are webmasters who are left with no sales. Does this business suit you? The only way to decide it is to try it out.
